The thing about me is, I know stuff. Not just the sort of thing your mum tells you, or what you learn at the village school. One reason I know more stuff than most kids my age is that my big brother Tommy tells me interesting things all the time. Even though he says secondary school is boring, most days he has something clever to share with me. Last week, he told me about this thing they did in Biology called ozzymozziness, or something like that. It means you can absorb stuff just by being next to it. It’s sort of like magic. That night, I slept with my Spellings book on my pillow, and the next day I got ten out of ten in my Spelling test. See what I mean?
The other reason I know so much is because my brother and I hang out a lot in our village bookshop, Hector’s House. It’s rammed full of books stuffed with useful things to know. Unlike my brother, I sometimes read books.

While we worked on the bunting, the flower rota team was busy decking the church out in matching colours. Other volunteers were delivering home-made cakes and biscuits to refresh Sunday visitors. After the morning service, St Bride’s was to be open to visitors and tourists for the rest of the day. (Read more)
